How Much Does an Online Nutritionist Cost in India?

If you are searching for an online nutritionist in India, you will find prices that look wildly different. One service charges for a single call, another sells a three month package, and a third bundles an app. Comparing them by price alone is how people end up paying for something they do not use.
This post does not list competitor prices, because those change often and we do not want to quote a number we cannot source. Instead, it shows what to compare, so you can judge any offer on its merits, including ours.
What are you actually paying for?
Online nutrition services usually sell one of three things, and the first step is knowing which one you are looking at.
- A single consultation. One conversation, usually 20 to 45 minutes, sometimes with a diet chart afterwards. It works if you want a quick review of what you eat now.
- A fixed diet chart. A document built from your height, weight, food preferences and goal. Useful, but it does not change when your week does.
- An ongoing plan with follow up. Meals planned for you over days or weeks, with a way to ask questions and get changes. This costs more than a single chart because it takes more of the nutritionist's time.
A low price is not automatically a good deal, and a high one is not automatically better. A cheap chart you abandon on day four costs more per useful day than a plan you follow for a month.
What should you compare before you pay?
- Who writes the plan. Is it a named qualified nutritionist, or a template run through software? Ask directly.
- How personal it is. Does it use your height, weight, work hours, food habits and health conditions, or is it a standard chart with your name on it?
- Whether it fits Indian home cooking. A plan full of foods your kitchen never makes will not last a week. Look for roti, rice, dal, sabzi and regional food in the examples.
- Follow up. Can you message when a meal does not work? How long do replies take?
- Changes. If you travel, fast or fall sick, will the plan be adjusted?
- Duration. Divide the price by the number of days covered. A 15 day plan and a 3 month plan are not comparable by headline price.
- Clear terms. Check the refund policy and what happens after the plan ends, before you pay.
Red flags worth walking away from
- Promises like a fixed number of kilos in a fixed number of days. Healthy weight loss is gradual, usually around half a kilo a week, and nobody can guarantee your result.
- Pressure to buy supplements or powders as part of the plan.
- Extreme calorie targets with no explanation. Our post on the 1200 calorie plan explains why one number does not suit everyone.
- No way to reach a real person after you pay.
- Big claims about curing a medical condition with food. Food habits support your treatment, they do not replace it.
Dietitian or nutritionist: does the title change the cost?
In India both words are used loosely, and the title alone does not tell you the quality. What matters is the qualification behind the name and how the person works with you. We wrote a plain explanation in dietitian vs nutritionist in India, and a checklist in how to choose an online dietitian.
When is a paid plan worth it?
It tends to be worth it when you have tried a chart from the internet and could not stick to it, when you cook for a family and need food that suits everyone, when you have a health condition and want food habits that sit alongside your doctor's advice, or when you simply want someone to ask on a hard day. If you only want a rough starting point, our free post on a simple diet plan for weight loss and the calorie calculator are a fine place to begin.
How DietGhar fits in
Our nutritionists plan meals around your calorie target and the food your family cooks, and you can chat with them while you follow it. Plans start at Rs 499 for 15 days, so you can try it before committing to anything longer. You can see every option side by side on the compare page, read about the team on the nutritionists page, or look at the plans page.
If you have diabetes, thyroid disease, PCOS, kidney problems, high blood pressure, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take regular medicine, please talk to your doctor before changing your diet.
Common questions
Is an online nutritionist cheaper than visiting one in person?
Often it is, because there is no clinic rent or travel. But the price tells you little on its own. Compare what you get for it: how many days it covers, whether the plan is made for you, and whether you can ask questions along the way.
Is a one time diet chart enough?
For some people, yes. If you only need a starting structure and you are good at sticking to it, one chart can do the job. Most people struggle in week two or three, when travel, festivals or a bad day change things. That is when follow up support matters.
Do I need a doctor and a nutritionist?
If you have diabetes, thyroid trouble, PCOS, high blood pressure, kidney problems or take regular medicine, your doctor handles the medical side and a nutritionist helps with daily food habits. Tell the nutritionist about your condition and keep your doctor informed.
Can I change my plan if I do not like a meal?
You should be able to. A good plan is built on food your family actually cooks, so swaps are normal. Ask before you pay whether changes are included and how quickly they are made.
What does DietGhar charge?
Plans start at Rs 499 for 15 days. The full plan options are on our compare page and the plans page, so you can see exactly what each one includes.
